Yacht registration
Registration of yacht as a pleasure or commercial vessel with the Malta Yacht Registry through a corporate structure.
Flag registration
This includes a survey by a Maltese surveyor in order to evaluate what is required for registration under Malta Flag.
VAT options and tax advice
Based on the type of use of the yacht, whether private or commercial use, we can offer the most cost effective options.
Leasing agreements
Lease agreements will be prepared for the yacht owner according to his individual requirements.

Financial accounting – record keeping and reports

This includes the preparation of crew employment contracts, payroll administration, and other crew matters.
Surveys
Pre-purchase and regular flag state surveyor and also ad hoc by independent surveyors.
Yacht compliance including MLC compliance and certification
This involves a survey to ensure compliance, and certification by the flag state will be issued.
VAT registration and administration
VAT registration and administration in Malta and in other Mediterranean countries.
This involves the registration for VAT for commercial yachts in all the ports within the Mediterranean where the yacht will be commencing charter activities. We have associates in all the Mediterranean ports/countries.
Charter Yacht management
Chartering your own yacht can, if managed properly, significantly reduce the yearly cost of owning a yacht. Scandinavian Marine can assist in setting up a charter program which will not only be beneficial to your finances, but will also keep your crew in shape and your yacht in top condition and well maintained. A positive charter record can be beneficial for a later sale of the yacht.
Before any private yacht can qualify as a commercial charter yacht, it has to go through a compliance process under Flag and Class statutory regulations. If the yacht complies or can be brought under compliance, it can operate as a commercial vessel. An official flag state surveyor will carry out the required inspections, and Scandinavian Marine can oversee and supervise this process, on the owners’ behalf.
